About Me

I'm the Nightside Reporter/MMJ at WNEP-16. We're a legacy station that's been leading in the ratings in the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton DMA for decades. I've been the only nightside reporter throughout my entire contract, which means I've been responsible for pitching and executing leadable stories every night. I am an MMJ, but I primarily work with a photographer on nightside since it's the station's policy that reporters do not set up their own live shots. During my time at WNEP, I've been at the forefront of many major breaking news events in the area, such as when the Lehigh Valley Dickson City Hospital caught on fire or when two state troopers were shot in Susquehanna County. Within my first few months on the job, I secured a one-on-one interview with Gov. Tim Walz during the 2024 Harris-Walz campaign. In those same months, I was selected and participated in Boyd Huppert's 9 Week Storytelling Seminar. I've broken multiple stories on nightside, one of which led to a direct result of a county government restructuring an entire free annual concert. I'm also currently producing a multi-part series on the impact the One Big Beautiful Bill can have on people living in Northeastern and Central Pennsylvania.

Previously, I graduated from Boston University in May 2024 with two bachelor's degrees, an MS in Journalism, and an MA in Political Science. While there, my main focus was on print journalism, but in my senior year, I switched to broadcast. In this portfolio, you'll find a mix of stories, a few print stories from college, but over 20 broadcast packages from my time at WNEP.

Eventually, my goal is to be a legally educated international conflict reporter for broadcast news.

My job as the City Section Editor was to look for stories and make determinations of newsworthiness based on our readership. I was also involved with the editing of some of the biggest stories of the semester such as the Ibram X.
